Chandpur, C'nawabganj road accidents kill three

At least three persons were killed in separate road accidents in Chandpur and Chapainawabganj districts on Friday and Saturday, reports BSS.
In Chandpur, two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle in Kamta Bazar Chowdhury Bari area of Subidpur East Union under Faridganj upazila of the district on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Abdur Rahman, 28, son of Md Abu Taher Mia, a resident of Punishair village of the upazila, and Md Sohag, 22, son of Md Imam Hussain, a resident of the same area.
The accident occurred in the area when they were going to Kamta Bazar; they collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction around 9.30pm and were severely injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station Sheikh Mohsin Alam said.
The injured were taken to Chandpur General Hospital where on-duty doctor declared them dead, he said. The bodies were handed over to their family members, the OC added.
In Chapainawabganj, an unidentified bicyclist was killed as a tractor hit him in Akandabaria intersection area under Moharajpur union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Saturday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj thana Md Sajjad Hossain said the accident occurred when a sand-laden Shibganj-bound tractor hit a bicycle in the area around 11 am, leaving the bicyclist dead on the spot.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, the OC said.
Police recovered the body, detained the tractor and its driver Md Durul, 40, son of Md. Mostofa of Babubazar village under Kansat union of Shibganj upazila of the district, the OC added.
A case was filed with the police station concerned in this connection.
