Children\\\'s seasonal contest held in Jhenidah

JHENIDAH, Sept 17: Children's district-level seasonal competition 2015 organised by Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Jhenidah, was held at the district Children's academy auditorium here on Wednesday.

A total of 96 children from different schools of six upazilas in four events took part in the competition on the day. From among them, 48 students were selected for regional competion to be held in Khulna later.

Sixteen students from four events (four students in each event) securing the first positions were awarded with prizes as well as ceritificates while the rest 32 students being placed in 2nd and 3rd positions were given qualifying certificates.

Deputy Commissioner of Jhenidah Mahabub Alam Talukder was present  as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

District chidren affairs officer Md. Ayub Hossain presided over the funciton where assistant commissioner and executive magistrate Rinat Fauzia, Advocate Amir Hossain Malita, NM Shah Jalal, District Information Officer ASM Kabir and Principal of Bhutiargati Madrasa, were present as special guests.

Later, over 500 tree plants were distributed among school students like previous years arranged by National Children Task Force (NCTF), Jhenidah, a national volunteer children organisation. DC also inaugurated the function at the academy premises.     aminul104060@gmail.com
