Chuadanga youth turns solvent through sheep rearing

CHUADANGA, Feb 18: A 28 - year old educated unemployed youth named Washim Akram son of Abdul Malek in village Dalka Luxmipur under Damurhuda Upazila of Chuadanga district has become self-reliant by rearing sheeps through his own efforts recently.
It is mentionable that Washim Akram had passed HSC examination in 2003 from Chuadanga Government College under Jessore board. After passing the examination, he struggled a lot for getting a job at a private or government offices but failed. As he could not continue his studies and his father could not afford to bear his educational expenses, he made a determination to do something though his own efforts.
He was passing his days with his parents with much hardship and he decided to set up a sheep farm at his home and bought 8 cross-bred sheeps and started rearing those for changing his luck in 2005.
Next year he took loan a loan of Tk 20,000 from Damurhuda Krishi Bank and purchased 4 more sheeps. And by turns he expanded his farm with the help of his family members and now there are 110 sheeps in his farm.
He now earns Tk 18,000 to 20,000 every month after meeting all expenditure and changed his luck and leads a healthy and happy life in the area.
'I now encourage the educated unemployed youths to become self-reliant through rearing sheep and be free from curse of unemployment' Washim Akram said.
