SYLHET, Oct 16 (UNB): A college girl was killed and 25 people were injured as a bus carrying them plunged into a ditch on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in South Surma upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Rubi Begum, a XI class student of Nurjahan memorial Women College.
Witnesses said the college-bound bus, carrying female students from Tajpur, fell into the ditch at Satmail around 10am after a lorry hit the vehicle from behind, leaving 26 female students injured.
The injured students, including Rubi, were taken to North East Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
