College teacher beaten to death in Cox\\\'s Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, Nov 1 (UNB): A college teacher was beaten to death in an attack by his rivals at Paschim Moheshkhalia Para village in Teknaf upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified Shamsul Alam, 50, professor of Teknaf Degree College and son of late Fazlul Karim of the village.

Police said a group of 15-20 people suddenly attacked Shamsul when he was leading a group during arbitration at the village at noon and beat and hit him with deadly weapons, leaving him critically injured.

Shamsul died on way to hospital around 9pm.
