Construction of two roads in Rangpur launched

RANGPUR, July 29 (BSS): Mayor of the Rangpur city, valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, launched on Wednesday carpeting works of two roads at different places in the city.

He launched the road carpeting works by cutting ribbon at two separate ceremonies arranged in the Dakshin Kellabond area, under the Ward No-16 and Rampura area under the Ward No-17 in the city as the chief guest.

Carpeting works of these roads are being implemented under the phase-wise construction packages of 142 separate roads, drains, culverts and drainage systems in 142 groups at Taka 33 crore in the city from own resources of the city corporation.

The City Councilors Golam and Panel Mayor Kabir Kajol (Ward No-16), Jahurul Islam Azabbar (Ward No-17) and female City Councilor from Reserved Ward Anju Monwar Gini attended the ceremonies as the special guests.

While addressing the ceremonies, the City Mayor said infrastructural construction works of the roads, bridges, culverts, housing, drainage and sewerage systems, water and electricity supply lines are being implemented as per a long-term master plan.

He cautioned all concerned saying that no irregularities will be tolerated while implementation of the construction works and urged all to ensure the best quality in construction with maximum transparency and accountability.
