Construction worker dies falling off roof in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, May 11 (BSS): A construction worker and electrician died after falling off the rooftop of an under-construction building in Kashiani upazila of the district on Thursday.

The dead is Bayjid Sheikh (30), son of Jalil Sheikh, resident of Shukurhata village of Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur district.

Witnesses and local sources, Bayjid Sheikh suddenly fell down from the 2nd floor of the under-construction building of Syed Morad Hossain in the area while doing electrical work around 1.30 pm, leaving him injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kashiani thana Muhammad Feroz Alam said.

Locals rescued him and took to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

If complaints are received, legal action will be taken after investigation, the OC added.
