Cop commits suicide in Jessore

JESSORE, June 6 (UNB): A sub-inspector of police allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his own pistol in Manirampur Upazila early Saturday.

Khabir Uddin Ahmed (55), officer-in-charge of Manirampur Police Station, said Khan Ali Akbar of Monirampur Police Station shot himself with his official pistol around 4:15 am. He died on the spot.

Akbar killed himself following a family feud, said the OC.

Hailing from Lohagara Upazila of Narail district, Akbar had been working in Monirampur Police Station as a sub-inspector.
