At least 10 people sustained injuries as police opened rubber bullets to quell unrest between two clashing groups of local people in Sirajganj town on Monday. Witnesses said a scuffle took place between two groups of young men of Railway Colony and Mahmudpur over a trifling matter during a cultural function at the colony on Friday night. In sequel to the incident, a group of young people from Mahmudpur attacked Railway Colony on Monday morning and vandalised 10 houses and two shops. The attackers also set fire to a house during the incident. Two houses were looted at that time. Angered by the incident, residents of Railway Colony brought out a procession in the town later in the day.
