NAOGAON, Jun 9 (UNB): A couple was killed and four people were injured as lightning struck them at Ajoor village in Mahadebpur upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Matin, 24, and his wife Renu Begum, 18.
Locals said Abdul Matin and Renu Begum died on the spot as a thunderbolt hit them while working at home during storm around 6 am.
Four others- two and a half year old daughter of the couple Madina, and their neighbours Tiljaan Bibi, 55, Jahanara Begum, 45 and Oshnara Begum, 32-- were injured by lightning. They were admitted to the upazila health complex.
