Dacoits loot valuables, injure one in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 16 (BSS): A gang of dacoits stormed an ex-lawmaker house in the city's Khalishpur industrial area and looted valuable worth including cash money and gold, an elder son Kafi was injured in dacoity early hours of today.

Sharif Kasafuddoza Muhammed Sadi, 40, younger son of ex-lawmaker Sharif Khasruzzaman told BSS, some 12 to 15 masked dacoits broke into the ground floor of three storied house and entered the first floor around 3.30am and looted valuables worth including Tk 2, 90,000 in cash, about 30 tolas of gold jewelries and a licensed pistol at gun point.

Sharif Kasafuddoza Muhammed Kafi, 43, elder son of Khasruzzaman, was injured when he intercepted the robbers with hockey stick. Kafi was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).

Officer-in-charge of Khalishpur Police Station S M Quamruzzaman, told BSS that Kafi received injury at different parts of the body. The robbers entered the house by cutting grill at the ground floor of the house.
