Dialogue between farmers, district board officials held in Magura

MAGURA, Feb 12: A dialogue was held between Magura district board administrator and farmers in Magura Wednesday.
A total of 21 recommendations came out in the dialogue in the interest of the farmers. The recommendations included setting up of soil test centre in Magura, electricity bill rate for agriculture purpose keeping within tolerable level, renovation of Ganges-Kobodak irrigation project, opening crop insurance system, removing gender discrimination in labour payment for agricultural work, bringing back navigability of 2 rivers Nabaganga and Kumar of Magura, ensuring fair price of agricultural products for farmer and others.
Rova Foundation and District Public Policy Forum (DPPF) jointly arranged the dialogue at Magura Atar Ali public library with the financial support of USAID. Magura district board administrator Sayed Shariful Islam was the chief guest in the dialogue with DPPF Magura president Prof Habibul Hasan in the chair.
