GAIBANDHA, Sept 12 (BSS): Gaibandha Sadar Hospital received cholera saline, pure drinking water and Dettol soap for the treatment purpose of diarrhoea patients from different organisations in last two days.
Over 220 diarrhoea patients of Gaibandha Municipality and its surrounding areas got admitted to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital on Thursday and Friday.
Different organisations stood beside the poor diarrhoea patients and provided cholera saline, pure drinking water and hand washing soap to them.
Deputy Commissioner M. Abdus Samad formally handed over the saline, water and soap to the authority of the hospital on Friday afternoon.
Civil surgeon Dr. Nirmalendu Chowdhury received the 1,300 bags of cholera saline, 1,000 bottles of water and 300 pieces of Dettol soap donated by Nahid Foundation from the DC.
Besides, Patients' Welfare Association conducted by Social Services Department also provided 1,000 bags of cholera saline and other equipments to the hospital authority.
A team of experts on diarrhoea diseases came to the hospital from Dhaka on Friday and the team would find out the cause of diarrhoea spreading here, hospital sources said.
