District law and order body meeting held

FARIDPUR, Mar 24 (BSS): The meeting of the district law and order committee to review the law and order situation in the district was held here on Sunday.
The meeting presided over by DC Abu Hena Morshed Zaman was attended by district law enforcing agencies chiefs, Upazilla Chairmen, UNOs, government officials, lawyers, members of the civil society and journalists.
It was decided in the meeting to conduct frequent mobile courts to prevent adulteration in food and also to check preservatives injurious for health.
In view of the traffic congestion in the town, it was decided to rearrange traffic arrangements for easy vehicular traffic and pedestrians' safety. It was further decided to check movement of battery driven three wheelers and 'Nosimon' vehicles on highways to avoid road crashes.
The meeting expressed satisfaction at maintaining law and order during the recently held upazilla polls in nine upazillas in three phases peaceful, fair and acceptable. The meeting extended thanks to the people and concerned officials in holding such fair polls.
DC Morshed Zaman, Police Super Md Zamil Hassan and RAB Company Commander Major Mojammel Hoque sought the cooperation of the people in checking drug abuse and stressed the need for vigilance and alertness of all to prevent extortion and to bring law offenders to task.
