DMP arrests 46 for consuming, selling drugs

As part of the anti-drug drive in the city, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a total of 46 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday, reports BSS.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted the operations against the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations.
They also detained a total of 46 drug traffickers and recovered huge drugs from their possessions.
During the anti-drug drives, police seized 14.975 kilograms of cannabis (ganja), 5,121 pieces of Yaba tablets, 152.5 grams and 20 puria (small packets) of heroin and 192 bottles of phensidyle syrup from their possessions, it said. Police filed 32 cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
