EC, admin accused of failure to protect Hindu communities

JESSORE, Jan 20: Salma Ali, executive director, Bangladesh National Women Lawyers' Association accused the administration as well as the election commission for their failure to provide security of the Hindus from attacks by miscreants after the 10th national election.

She urged the lawmen to investigate into the incidents of attacks and rape on Hindus impartially.

The eminent lawyer of the country was speaking at a roundtable on role of stakeholders to prevent violence at the conference room of Jessore Press Club on Sunday.

The roundtable was attended among others by Ahsan Kabir, general secretary, Jessore Press Club, Saifur Rahman Saif, Jessore Correspondent, New Age, Nasima Khatun, BNWLA, Jessore district unit, Kausar Parvin, women affairs officer, Jessore, MA Mannan Mia, Jessore Correspondent, the Independent, NGO activists Sarwar Hossain, Rafiqul Islam and Abul Kalam Azad, Rasheda Rahman, councillor, Jessore Municipality and police officials and UP chairmen and members.
