RAJSHAHI, Nov 1 (BSS): Education medal always inspires the meritorious students to more positive learning together with flourishing their latent talents, speakers at a medal giving ceremony said here Friday.
They said there should be provision of providing education medal or other incentives to the students particularly from the underprivileged communities for encouraging them towards institutional education.
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) organised the function of according reception and distribution of Mayor Education Medal to the students who obtained GPA-5 in the Primary School Certificate, Junior School Certificate and other equivalent examinations from educational institutions in the city area in 2014 at the Green Plaza.
Speaking as the chief guest, RCC Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul urged the students to groom themselves properly to build a happy and prosperous country.
Terming the students as the future leaders of the nation, he said they should be well equipped with information and communication technological knowledge to face the challenges of the 21st century.
Besides freeing the society from all sorts of corruption and irregularities the students' communities should come forward to lead the society in a way so that the hopes and aspirations of the common people are met properly, he said.
With RCC Chief Executive Officer Ajahar Ali in the chair, Prof Jobdul Haque, Prof Aminul Islam, Prof Faisul Islam Faruqui and Prof KAM Shahadat Hossain Mondal also spoke.
Mayor Bulbul advised the students to refrain themselves from all sorts of destructive, anti-social and immoral activities to brighten the image of the society as well as the nation.
"We have no way but to promote information and communication technology in every sphere of life for successful economic growth of the country," he added.
