Eight workers injured in Madaripur clash

MADARIPUR, June 10 (BSS): At least eight building construction workers were injured in the clash between two groups here this morning.

The injured were identified as Iktiar Bepari (45), Zahid Hawlader (25), Karimuddin Fakir (35), Russel Matbar (22), Md. Samrat (20) and Sagar Munshi (24).

Police and local said some construction workers were working on the road at Dargasharif area at about 10.00 am and suddenly one Nasir Jamaddar, a local got involved in altercation with them.

At one stage, a group led by Nasir attacked the workers union office near Madaripur Pourasabha and ransacked the construction building union office where eight workers were injured.

They were admitted to Madaripur Sadar Hospital. Of them, one seriously injured Zahid Hawlader was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
