KHULNA, Apr 11: A 3-member team of FVO (Food and Beverage Organisation) of European Union is due to visit Khulna to inspect the physical condition and standard of shrimp industries and the Fisheries Department of Khulna region.
The team will visit different areas of Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira district from April 20.
Fisheries office source said that the EU team will visit shrimp enclosures, depots and processing units in this areas. Besides, they will also supervise the water of shrimp farm, quality of fish feed and the hygienic environment of shrimp farm. The officials of Fisheries Department are now passing busy time to receive the EU team.
District Fisheries Officer of Khulna Profulla Kumar Sarkar said that about 75 per cent exportable fish of Khulna are exported to different countries of Europe.
