Ex-RU VC Dr Altaf Hossain dies

RAJSHAHI, Nov 05: Former Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) and retired professor of the university's Zoology department Dr Md Altaf Hossain died on Thursday.

He was 75.

Dr Md Altaf breathed his last at his residence in Uposhahor area of Rajshahi.

Prof Dr Md Saiful Islam Faruki, president of Rajshahi University Teachers' Association (RUTA), confirmed the matter.

Prof Altaf left behind one son and two daughters to mourn his death.

He served as the vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University from June 5, 2005 to May 16, 2008.
