Ex-UP member hacked to death in Pabna

PABNA, Mar 8: A former Union Parishad (UP) member was hacked to death at Daramridha village under Nandanpur union in Santhia upazila in Pabna on Saturday night. Police recovered the body of the victim from a field of the village Sunday.

The deceased Md. Mukul Hossain (48), son of Nawsher Ali of Darmridha, had connection with the outlawed Nakshal Bahini, police said.

Officer -in- charge of Santhia police station Shahed Mahamud said Mukul severed the relationship with the outlawed parties few years ago and was involved in local AL politics.

Mukul went out of the house on Saturday night. Later he was found dead near a field of the village on Sunday morning, the OC said adding that the criminals slit his throat.

Police recovered the body from the spot at about 9.30am and sent it to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
