Expanded cultivation of flood tolerant rice stressed

RANGPUR, Nov 3 (BSS): Experts at a farmers' field day have stressed for expanded cultivation of flood tolerant rice to attain sustainable food security through increasing cereal crop production.

Baroghoria Farmers' Field School organised the field day with the assistance of CARE Bangladesh and Eco Social Development Organisation (ESDO) in village Hemerkuthi Mastarerhat under Sadar Upazila of Kurigram Sunday.

With Chief Programme Coordinator of ESDO KN Sarker in the chair, Kurigram Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer of Department of Agriculture Extension Mohammad Kamruzzaman attended the occasion as the chief guest.

Over 250 male and female farmers, community leaders attended the occasion organised for demonstrating cultivation technology and harvesting of BINA dhan11.
