Extensive Boro cultivation programme undertaken in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 20: Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has undertaken an extensive programme to cultivate Boro in this winter season in Nilphamari district.

This year's target of Boro cultivation in the district is in 79443 hectares of land to produce 329671 MT of paddy out of which hybrid is in 26710 hectares of land to produce 126015 MT and Upshi in 52733 hectares of land to produce 203656 MT of paddy.

When contacted one DAE official said the target is the same as that of the last year. Sources said the farmers have also started preparing the land for planting the saplings in farmlands.
