Fake hospital sealed in Feni

FENI, Oct 25 (BSS): A mobile court in a drive has realised Tk 015 million as fine from the owner of Daganbhuiyan Diabetic & General Hospital for various irregularities in Daganbhuiyan upazila of the district.

Sources said the mobile court, led by executive magistrate and Daganbhuiyan Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nivedita Chakma, conducted the drive at Daganbhuiyan Diabetic & General Hospital in the upazila headquarters and fined the hospital and jailed Shamsuddin, the owner, for various irregularities including no hospital license, no pharmacist certificate, fake nurse, use of date expired chemicals, use of x-ray machine without technician and no permission to operate x-ray machine of the upazila.

Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Tauhidul Islam said the Diabetic centre was running the hospital using the license in the name of a diagnostic centre, which is fraud as per the rules.
