Falling brick kills van driver in Habiganj

HABIGANJ, Mar 11 (BSS): A van driver was killed after a brick fell on him from the roof of a house in Baniachong upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Maksud Mia, 30, a resident of Sheikher Mohalla village under Baniachong upazila of the district.The incident occurred around 1:00 pm at the house of Nabi Hossain Mia in Purbagarh Mohalla of the upazila.According to local sources, Maksud Mia had arrived at the house with a battery-run van to deliver water tanks and other goods. After unloading the items, several bricks suddenly fell on him from the roof of the house.One of the bricks struck him directly on the head, causing him to collapse on the spot.Locals quickly rushed him to hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
