RAJSHAHI, Sept 30 (BSS): Senior bankers have asked their subordinates to ensure farmer-friendly banking for boosting agricultural production.

They said all the credit programmes of the bank should be need-oriented and emphasis should be given to reaching banking services to the farmers' doorsteps as a whole.

They came up with the direction while addressing a daylong quarterly performance evaluation meeting of all the zones of the Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) at its training institute here on Saturday.

All the 18 zonal managers and audit officers and others concerned from both Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions joined the meeting.

Chairman of board of directors of the bank Nazrul Islam addressed the meeting as chief guest with Managing Director Kazi Alamgir in the chair.

General Managers Mozammel Haque, Khazamuddin Talukder, Rakibur Rahman Kandaker and Saidur Rahman also spoke.

The discussants laid stress on bringing all the existing potential sectors and sub-sectors of agriculture and its processing under qualitative and quantitative financing for making the country's northwest region economically vibrant.

The chief guest urged the zonal managers to perform duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to speed up the ongoing farmers-level lending activities.
