Farmer killed over land dispute in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, May 6 (UNB): A farmer was killed and six others were injured in a clash over a land-related dispute at Barin Nagar in Godagari upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Arshed Ali, 55.

Family sources of the deceased said sons of Zahir Hazi, a neighbour of Arshed, started to cultivate a piece of land belonging to Arshed in the morning.

Following this, as Arshed along with his relatives went to protest, sons of Zahir Haji swooped on them with sharp weapons, leaving Arshed dead on the spot and six others injured.
