Farmer shot dead in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Jul 20 (UNB): A 30-year-old farmer was shot dead allegedly by some miscreants at Padua union in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram in the early hours of Wednesday, said police.

The dead is Md Enam, a resident of the union.

Locals said a group of armed miscreants entered Enam's house in Mohisha Bam area around 11:00 pm on Tuesday. Sensing their presence, the farmer left his house and took shelter in his neighbour's house .

Later, the miscreants shot him after entering his neighbour's house, said Mahfuzur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of South Rangunia thana.
