Farmers for completion of work by February

SYLHET, Jan 28: Farmers of Jamalganj upazila in Sunamganj recently formed a human chain demanding immediate start of the work on all the crop protection embankments. They also urged the authority concerned for completion of the work by February.

Several hundred of farmers from the neighbouring villages staged the demonstration in Gangadharpur village beside Pagnar haor and in Badarpur village beside Halir haor. Citizens’ Forum ‘Poribesh O Haor Unnayan Sangstha’ organised the event.

Forum president Kashmir Reza, general secretary Pijush Purkayostha Titu, activists Rezaul Karim, Md. Akhtaruzzaman Talukder, Jhuton Das, Badal Das, Khokan Mia and Abdul Kader took part in the event.
