NETRAKONA, Jun 25 (BSS): A court here today sentenced father and his two sons to death for killing a farmer at Mirzapur village under Atpara upazila of the district in 2005.
Additional District and Session Judge Mohammad Abdul Hamid pronounced the verdict at the crowded courtroom.
The court sources said, the convicts are Abdur Rahim, 50, son of late Karim Newaz of the same area and his two sons Mukles, 30, and Julhas, 32.
The prosecution story, in brief, is that the convicts hacked farmer Saidur Rahman, 25, to death on February 28 in 2005 at the village following previous enmity. After the incident, victim's father Mohammad Foiezuddin filed a case with Atpara Thana on March 1, 2005 against the three convicted persons.
Police, after investigating the case, submitted the charge sheet to the court against the three on May 31, 2005. The judge after examining the witnesses and evidences found the three persons guilty and delivered the judgment.
