FFs urged to work for economic prosperity

MYIMENSINGH, Dec 11 (BSS): Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matior Rahaman on Wednesday called upon the freedom fighters to work unitedly for economic prosperity of the country.
"I'm urging the freedom fighters to work together for building a hunger and poverty free Bangladesh as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," he said.
He made the call while addressing a discussion organized on the occasion of the historic Mymensingh free day yesterday.
The district was liberated from the Pakistani occupation Army on December 10, 1971.
The week long programme began with hoisting of National flag and Muktijuddaha Sangsad flag at Chotabazar Mukta Munch yesterday morning. Valiant freedom fighter and Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matior Rahman formally inaugurated the week long programme on the occasion.
Later, a big colourful rally was brought out in the town, led by Minister Principal Matior Rahaman, which paraded the main streets of the town.
The minister said the country was liberated from the Pakistani occupation forces after nine-month long War. The Freedom fighters took part in the War of Liberation responding to a historic call by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He said the present government has been implementing various welfare oriented and development programmes for economic prosperity of the freedom fighters as well as to bring smile on the faces of millions of people of the country.
