Five killed in Faridpur road accidents

FARIDPUR, Jan 26 (BSS): Five people were killed and thirty five others received injuries yesterday afternoon in two separate road crashes in the district.

According to police sources, four people including two bus drivers were killed at Senkhali under Madhukhali upazilla on Dhaka-Khulna Highway when a Chuadanga-bound passenger coach from Dhaka collided head on with a Sadarpur Biswa Zaker Manjil-bound bus.

Two drivers of the two buses died on the spot while other two passengers Jaliluddin,80, of Jhenidah district and Sitab,42, succumbed to their injuries at Faridpur Medical College Hospital(FMCH). One driver was identified as Taslimuddin, 40 while the other could not be known immediately.

In another accident that occurred at Kadirdi on Boalmari-Machkandi road under Boalmari upazilla when Kadirdi Degree college student Nasrin Sultana, 20, wife of Sohag Mia of nearby Jahapur villagef was killed when her scurf got stuck with the wheel of a battery driven three wheeler.

A case was registered with Madhukhali police station in this connection.

Injured 28 persons were admitted to the FMCH while four were admitted in Madhukhali Health Complex.
