Five killed in separate road accidents

KHULNA, Jan 30: Three persons were killed and 35 others were injured in separate road accidents in Bagerhat Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Alim Sheikh (27), son of Mobidul of village Jilbunia under Morrelganj Upazila, Hashem Patowari (32), son of Rashid Patowari of village Deara under Rupsha Upazila of Khulna district and Juwel (28), son of Ashraf Ali of village Gazalia under Kachua Upazila of Bagerhat.
Police and local sources said that the accident occurred when a Bagerhat bound passengers carrying bus reached at Pinguria area, the driver lost control the bus and fell on the roadside leaving one person dead on the spot and 25 others injured. They were admitted to local health complex.
Another accident occurred at Bailtali area on Khulna-Mawa highway Sunday night while a microbus collided head on with a truck and two persons died on the spot. The injured were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Our Correspondent reports from Tangail: A minor boy was killed and 35 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Bangabandhu Setu highway at Pustokamari village under Mirzapur Upazila today (Monday) at about 10-00am.
Officer in charge of Mirzapur police station Md Golam Mostafa said the accident took the place when a Dhaka bound passengers bus of Hanif Paribahan from Gaibandha lost control and fallen into a beside the highway.
A minor boy died on the spot and 35 others were injured. The injured were admitted in Tangail General Hospital and Mirzapur Kumudini Medical College Hospital.
UNB reports from Habiganj: A minor boy was killed in a road crash at Bhabanipur village of Lakhai upazila Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Shajib, 9, son of Shoshen Das of the village.
