Four die from toxic gas inhalation

NAOGAON, July 7 (BSS): Four people died after inhaling toxic gas of a septic tank at Goali village under Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased were identified as Raton (35), son of Jammat of Raghunathpur village, Imtiaz (32), son of Taijuddin, Babu (30), son of Banij and Dilbor, (35), son of Labardir of Goali village of the upazila.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kanai Lal Sarker said brick mason Raton lost consciousness after inhaling toxic gas when he get down inside the tank of Taijuddin house for working there at about 7 am.

After sometimes, Taijuddin's son Imtiaz went inside the septic tank for rescuing Ratan and he also lost consciousness. Later, Babu and Delbar also went inside the tank for rescuing Imtiaz and Ratan but unfortunately all of them became sick due to toxic gas inhalation, the ASP said.

Locals rescued them and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
