NILPHAMARI, Jun 02 (UNB): Two people were killed and two others injured as a bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Dhoyera bus stand in Jaldhaka upazila earlySaturday.
The accident took place around 3.00am when the 'Josheda Paribahan' bus dashed the auto-rickshaw, leaving two passengersRahim, 32, and Alam, 35,of the vehicle dead on the spot and two others injured, said Sohrab Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jaldhaka Police Station.
Meanwhile, in Rajshahi, a day labourer was killed being hit by a truck on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj Highway in Bypass Rail gate area of Godagari upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Somoy Lalu, 60, son of late Belal Uddin.
Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station, said the truck hit Somoy around 6.00 am while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
In Satkhira, a housewife was killed as a bus ran over her at Ghorapata in Kaliganj Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Bilkis Parvin, 23, wife of Abu Hasan, 36 of Bashantapur village of Kolaroa upazilain the district.
Witnesses said Biskis was returning home riding on her husband's motorcycle after appearing in the Primary School Teacher Recruitment Test in the district Sadar.
Suddenly Bilkis dropped from the motorcycle due to sorry state of the road around 3.00 pm and a speedy bus ran over her leaving her dead on the spot while her husband sustained injuries.
Later, locals took Hasan to Nalta Hospital for treatment.
