Four killed in road accidents in dists

LASMIPUR, May 31 (UNB): An NGO employee was killed in Bismillah road area of Chandragonj in sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rehman (25), a field worker of SSS NGO, who hailed from Jamalpur district.
Abul Hashem, sub-inspector of Chandraganj highway police, said a Khulna- bound bus of 'Rohan Paribahan' from Feni hit Lutfar when he was crossing the road by a bicycle in the afternoon, leaving him dead on the spot. Later police sent the body to Lakshmipur sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A BSS report from Rangpur says: A night coach passenger was killed and six others were injured in a road accident at Barodorga point on Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Pirganj upazila here this morning, police sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Nurun Nabi (33), son of Ayub Ali of Kamarpara area in Rangpur city.
The accident occurred when a Rangpur bound night coach 'Hanif Enterprise' from Dhaka fell down into the ditch after hitting a roadside tree as the sleepy driver lost control over the steering at 4-30 am.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot, rescued the body and the injured persons with the help of the local people and sent them to Pirganj Upazila Heath Complex.
Another report from Barisal says: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident at Rahmatpur on the Barisal-Dhaka highway in the district today.
The victims were identified as Al Amin Sardar (20), son of Shamsul Haque Sardar of Atipara village under Uzirpur upazila and Md. Sajal Sardar (17), son A. Lal Sardar of the same village. Al Amin was a second-year-student of BN Khan Degree College, Uzirpur and Md. Sajal passed SSC examination this year.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Airport thana Md. Motiur Rahman said a Faridpur-bound cattle loaded truck collided head-on with a motorcycle in the area at about 11.30 am. As a result, the motorcyclists died on the spot.
Driver and helper managed to escape from the spot along with their truck.
