FP Service Week begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jun 4 (BSS): Family Planning Service Week-2014 at the initiative of Directorate of Family Planning Department began here on Tuesday with a call to reduce total fertility rate through providing permanent and long term method.

To mark the week, department of Family Planning chalked out the elaborate programmes that include rally, discussion meeting and motivational campaign on the reduction of birth rate.

Deputy Commissioner M Ehsan-e-Elahi formally inaugurated the week at a function at Mother and Child Welfare Centre (MCWC) of the town as the chief guest and civil surgeon Dr. Ahad Ali was present as the special guest while deputy director of the department Dr. Ferdous Hossain Manju presided over it.

DC M. Ehsan-e-Elahi urged the departmental employees to be more serious and punctual in discharge their duties to bring all the able couples under the permanent and long term methods to check the population growth of the district.
