Freedom fighter killed in Jessore road accident

JESSORE, Mar 22 (BSS): A veteran freedom fighter was killed and another six persons including three women were injured in a road mishap in Lebutala-Rajapur area on Jessore-Magura Highway in Sadar upazila here on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Walier Rahman Mollah, 60, president of ward no-3 Awami League of Echali union of the upazila.

Police and eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus from Benapole hit two motorcycles carrying four people on the road at around 11 am, leaving 7 hurt. The injured were admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital where Walier Rahman succumbed to his injuries.
