Department of Agronomy at Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has successfully developed a high salt-tolerant, high-yielding wheat variety named 'GAU gom 1'. The new variety was developed under the leadership of two agricultural scientists, Professor Dr. M. Moynul Haque and Professor Dr. Md. Moshiul Islam. The wheat variety particularly suited for the saline-prone southern regions of the country
