KHULNA, May 27 (BSS): The government will distribute 1,585 tonnes of rice among the distressed people under the vulnerable group feeding (VGF) programme in the district ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The administration will be distributed the VGF rice among 1,58,493 marginal poor families during the month of Ramadan in eight upazilas and two Pourasavhas of the district, officials said today.
The Ministry of Food and Disaster Management to allocate 1,585 tonnes of rice for 1,58,493 poor families under the programme.
Each of 16,789 families of Batiaghata, 14,814 families of Dakop, 23,296 families of Dumuria, 12,398 families of Dighalia, 23,000 families of Koyra, 23,747 families of Paikgachha, 9,208 families of Fultala, 13,571 families of Rupsha, 14,000 families of Terokhada upazilas and 4,600 families of Paikgachha municipality and 3,070 families in Chalna Pourasavha to get 10-kg VGF rice.
