Harvesting of Aus progressing fast in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Sept 16 (BSS): Harvesting of ropa Aus paddy is progressing fast in all the four upazilas of the district during this season amid much enthusiasm to the farmers.

Department of Agricultural Extension office sources said a total of 21,730 hectares of land have been brought under the cultivation in the district with the production target of 87,000 tonnes of paddy.

Of the total, some 28,000 tonnes would be produced in Sadar upazila, 14,000 tonnes in Alamdanga upazila, 27,400 tonnes in Damurhuda upazila and 16,800 tonnes in Jibannagar upazila, DAE office said.

Over 80 per cent harvest had already been completed and the rest would be finished by the end of this month.
