JOYPURHAT, Nov 3 (BSS): Harvesting of Transplanted Aman paddy has started in different areas of Joypurhat district.
The farmers and Agricultural offices are expecting a bumper production of the T-Aman paddy in the current season of the district.
Distinct Agricultural Extension (DAE) office Sources said, a total of 71,715 hectares of land were brought under T-Aman cultivation in 5 upazilas of the district with the production target of over 0.25 million tonnes of rice.
The farmers of the district are expected to exceed the production target due to favourable climate condition, timely supply of adequate quantity of improved quality seeds, distribution of fertilizer from different state-run agencies including the BADC and BCIC, sanction of agricultural loan to the farmers from different NGOs and Banks.
