Headmaster accused of sexually harassing girls: Probe body formed

PABNA, May 8: Inhabitants of Mohishkhola village of Santhia upazila locked up the Mohishkhola primary school Wednesday noon bringing allegation against the headmaster of sexual harassment of girl students. Santhia upazila administration formed a 3-member committee to investigate into the incident.
Locals said the headmaster of the school Md. Harunur Rashid often sexually harassed the girl students of the school. They informed their parents of the matter on Tuesday. Angry guardians of the village rushed to the school Wednesday noon but the headmaster managed to escape from the scene.
Angry guardians then staged demonstration demanding immediate removal of the teacher and locked up the school building. On being informed Santhia upazila nirbahi officer Md. Shafikul Islam along with the officials of Upazila Parishad and primary education office visited the spot and talked to the locals.
"The matter of sexual harassment has come to our notice today (Wednesday). We have formed a 3-members committee headed by upazila primary education officer to investigate into the matter." The UNO, Md. Shafikul Islam said.
