MAGURA, July 05: Physical distancing goes for a toss as hundreds of buyers and sellers throng cattle markets in Magura district amid an uptrend of Covid infections in the country.
Both buyers and sellers are seen without masks in the markets.
A total of 21 cattle haats have been established in the district. Health guidelines are being violated in all the cattle haats of the district.
During a visit to some cattle haats in the district including Katakhali , Ramnagar and Eatkhola this correspondent witnessed huge gathering of buyers and sellers. But a few persons were found wearing face masks. Customers as well as cattle owners are hardly using mask.
Dr Mezbaul Azam of Magura Child Hospital said, "Earlier, corona took a severe turn in the country just after Eid-ul-Azha as health guidelines were violated in the cattle haats. So, if we fail to follow health rules in cattle haats this time corona situation may deteriorate."
District civil surgeon Dr Shahidullah Dewan said, "We are campaigning to aware people about maintaining health guidelines in the district especially in cattle haats."
