GAIBANDHA, June 3 (BSS): The holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune and forgiveness, was observed in the district last night as elsewhere in the country with due religious fervour and festivity.
Thousands of Muslim devotees across the district passed the night offering special nafal prayers at mosques and homes, reciting from the holy Quran, holding milad mahfil, zikir, and other religious rituals.
They also sought divine blessings of Almighty Allah for long life, peace, progress and happiness for themselves, family members, relatives and well- wishers, eternal peace for their departed parents and generations as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
Besides, they also visited the graves of their near and dear ones and Muslim saints overnight and distributed sweets and homemade foods among the poor, neighbors and friends.
Another report from Rajshahi says: The Holy Shab-e-Barat was observed with due religious fervour and solemnity in the city and its adjacent areas Tuesday night.
In Rajshahi city, thousands of the Muslims offered "nafal" prayers at mosques and homes and recited from the holy Quran in observance of the most meaningful nights of forgiveness, fortune, hopes and aspirations.
Besides, they sought blessings of Almighty Allah for long life, peace, progress, good health and happiness for them, their families, relatives and friends and also offered special prayers with hopes of forgiveness, eternal peace for their departed parents and generations.
BSS reports from Khulna: The holy Shab-e-Barat (Lailatul Barat) was observed here and its adjacent areas last night with due religious fervor. Special nafal prayers, milad mahfil, zikr and doa mahfils were arranged on the occasion in the city and nine upazilas of the district and other sacred places.
Religious discussions were also held at different mosques and other religious places throughout the night and foods and money were distributed among the destitute.
Khulna City Corporation (KCC) authority has decorated with adequate lights at city's Basupara and Tootpara graveyard.
Religious discussion was also held at the mosque, adjacent to Tootpara and Basupara graveyards, where KCC mayor Moniruzzaman Mony addressed as the chief guest. Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahma Mizan also addressed the discussion as special guest.
