JESSORE, Aug 17 (UNB): A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband over extramarital affairs at Bakchar in the district Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Bijli, 22, wife of Golam Morshed.
Victim's maternal uncle Bazlur Rashid said Bijli, daughter of Billal Hosain of Birampur of the town, was married off with Golam Morshed about four years back. Morshed used to torture Bijli since their marriage as she protested her husband's alleged illicit affair.
On the fateful night, Morshed beat up Bijli to death and hung her body from a ceiling in their bedroom for concealing the murder.
