Housewife killed for dowry in Ishwardi

PABNA, Aug 26: A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband for dowry of village Darinaricha in Iswardi Upazila of the district early Tuesday. Police arrested the accused husband in connection with the incident.

The victim Farhana Akhter Eva, 22, wife of Shawan Hossain of the village Darinaricha was often tortured for bringing dowry money.

Shawan and Farhana got married two and half years ago. Recently Shawan forced Farhana to bring Tk 0.2 million for business but she could not manage the money, said Md Rakibul Islam, uncle of the victim. Failing to pay dowry money her husband strangulated her, he added.
