Human trafficker held in Pabna

PABNA, June 14: At last Sujanagar police arrested Baser Mallik, the accused human trafficker of Sujanagar upazila on Saturday night from Khoyran village of the upazila on charge of trafficking five youths of Sujanagar upazila three months ago.

The detained revealed some important information about the human trafficking circle in this region in primary interrogation.

Officer in charge of Sujanagar police station Habibur Rahman said acting on a tip off Sujanagar police arrested Baser Mallik (55) from a resident of Khoyran village where he was hiding over last few days.

The arrestee was identified as Baser Mallik (55), son of late Abdul Jobbar Mallik a resident of Udypur village under the Sujanagar upazila of the district.

Earlier, five youths of Sujanagar upazila under the district including the son of accused trafficker were being trafficked to Malyasia illegally. The victims endured inhuman physical and mental torture on a boat in the deep sea for last couple of months. Later they were rescued by Mayanmer team and returned home on Thursday.    motiarfe@gmail.com
