Implementation of infrastructural uplift progressing: RCC Mayor

RANGPUR, Dec 15 (BSS): Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has said implementation of massive infrastructural development works is progressing to turn Rangpur into an eco-friendly modern city.

Jhantu, also a valiant freedom fighter, said the road communication networks are being developed in a planned way ensuring transparency and quality of the construction works, to make Rangpur a traffic-jam free city.

He said this while launching construction of the road carpeting works at Mulatol Colony under Ward No-20 in the city on Sunday afternoon by cutting ribbon at a ceremony as the chief guest.

The Mayor launched the road carpeting works under phase-wise construction packages of 142 separate roads, drains, culverts, drainage systems and other works under 142 groups at the cost of Taka 330 million in RCC area.

Local social workers and activist including Hayat Mohammad Manik, Tara Mian, Helal Uddin and Abdul kader and contractor Tazul Islam were also present in the ceremony.
