MANIKGANJ, Dec12 (BSS): Although it is in the law to take suitable measures in vehicles and buildings to facilitate the movement of people with special need, it has not been implemented fully everywhere.
The concerned institutions and individuals should come forward with sincerity to protect them by implementing the law properly, speakers at an advocacy workshop on 'Implementation Disability Rights and Protection Act- 2013, at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) here on Tuesday.
A Manikganj based non-government organisation 'Disabled People's Organisation for Development (MDPOD) organized the day long workshop at the meeting room of the DC. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Gen) Sanwarul Haque was present at the function as the chief guest while Deputy Director Joardar Mohammad Mohiuddin presided over the function.
Local Government Engineering Department executive engineer Md Foizul Haque and District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) Prof. Abu Bakar Siddique Mollah spoke on the occasion as special guests.
Former District Education Officer (DEO) Md, Abdul Monnaf Khan, Journalist Jahangir Alam Biswas, Deputy Director of the Department of Statistic Minar Uddin and Assistant Supervisor of the District Education office also spoke on the occasion.
Introductory speech was delivered by Md. Antaj Uddin, Executive Director of the MDPOD.
